Much attention to market the iPhone5

Apple will introduce the iPhone 5 at its Cupertino headquarters in California on Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. (local time). The highly anticipated new model, which comes over one year after its predecessor in June of last year, will likely serve as a stress test for the popularity of Samsung's Galaxy S 2 and the new high-speed Galaxy S2 LTE, which runs on 4G tech.
The company has not yet disclosed the worldwide release date for the new model.
On Wednesday, Apple sent an email to U.S. media with the message "Let's talk iPhone," inviting reporters to an event for its new product. The company's new CEO Tim Cook will likely host the event, and Steve Jobs, who resigned last month, may appear via a video message, the foreign press reported.

Keeping with tradition, Apple has the model's dimensions and features strictly under wraps. The Wall Street Journal and other U.S. media are busy speculating on what may be in store for consumers based on information leaked by suppliers of iPhone parts, a case manufacturer and telecommunication companies.
They reported that the iPhone 5 will offer improved performance on a 4.2-inch screen with a dual-core processor. The prevailing assumption is that its edges will be rounder -- more like those of the iPhone 3G.
There are also rumors that Apple will introduce more than one smartphone this time around, possibly including a lower-priced model. These are largely based on comments by Apple board member Al Gore, the former U.S. vice president, who said recently that "new iPhones will be introduced," stressing the plural form.
If Apple does shoot for a new pricing policy and new technology, it would pose a fresh challenge to Samsung, which has seen surging sales for its Galaxy S 2 recently. The company has shifted 10 million units just five months after its release of the handset but still trails Apple.
Samsung has however bounced back with the Galaxy S series after the company faltered in the wake of the iPhone's cult-like popularity. The Korean tech giant secured 17.5 percent of the global smartphone market in the second quarter of this year, slightly behind Apple's 18.5 percent. This has led pundits to predict that Samsung will rank No. 1 in smartphone sales this year.
The release date of the iPhone 5 in Korea has not been set yet. SK Telecom and KT are discussing with Apple the prospect of issuing the phone in early November

French researchers have nearly succeeded in commercially developing

Hydrogen-powered phones available by 2010
Going green: The technology could lead to more environmentally friendly mobile phones.
PARIS: French researchers have nearly succeeded in commercially developing a hydrogen fuel cell for use as a backup power source for mobile phones, thus easing dependence on an electricity supply to charge the gadgets.
The miniature fuel cell uses a hydrogen-filled cartridge about the size of a small cigarette lighter, according to the researchers at the Atomic Energy Commission which has its headquarters in Saclay in northern France.
Hybrid handsets
They announced on Wednesday that the gadget, designed to be carried in a belt pouch, has been in gestation since 2005 with a semi-conductor technology company, STMicroelectronics.
The cartridges are being developed by the company Bic, which makes pens, lighters and razors.
The product is designed to be part of a "hybrid" system in which the cell phone first draws on the conventional battery for its power and then taps into the fuel cell if needed. Each cartridge gives the equivalent of three to five recharges of the traditional battery.
It is due to reach the market in early 2010, according to STMicroelectronics executive Igor Bimbaud, who declined to give its price.

The world’s first cellular Augmented fact unique newspaper Edition

Within a few years it will be common to use a mobile phone to interact with magazines in order to gain access to exclusive content. To give us a glimpse on what the future holds, Metaio has been working hard with SZ Magazine to give their readers an augmented reality experience they’ll never forget.
Tomorrow, over 550,000 households in Germany will get the latest edition of the Sueddeutsche Zeitung`s supplement magazine, which when viewed with Metaio’s junaio browser (available free for Android and iPhone) will reveal special content. What makes this project unique is it’s not just the cover or a few pages, but the entire magazine has been devoted to augmented reality.
The cover of the magazine shows Sandra Maischberger, the well known TV personality, hiding behind her raised hands. When viewed through the smartphone`s camera, however, the popular TV host appears smiling cheerfully at the viewer. Inside is a photo “interview without words” with Lena Meyer-Landrut, who recently won the European Song Contest. When looked at through the smartphone little speech bubbles appear with jibes and comments she couldn`t help making during the shooting (see image 1 + 2) . The famous column of Axel Hacke triggers a fantastic 3D animation by the illustrator Dirk Schmidt. Finally the editors and journalists of the SZ Magazine reveal their favourite spots in Munich, Berlin and Hamburg in a virtual city guide. UK-based PLAY Magazine is the latest magazine to get their hands on Grand

UK-based PLAY Magazine is the latest magazine to get their hands on Grand Theft Auto IV. They have an eight-page multiplayer preview in their latest issue. There are no new screenshots, but there are some interesting (mostly minor) new details:
Multiplayer can be accessed via your mobile phone during single-player. Select the 'Multiplayer' option and from there you can select game types and send invites for your friends to join you.
The host can control things like time of day, vehicle classes (specifically for GTA Race mode), weapon types, traffic, the location of the match, the weather type and choose whether the game will feature police or not.
As mentioned previously, you can customise your online character. You start off with basic modifications such as sunglasses, hats, tops, trousers and so on, but the more you play the game, the more options you unlock.
PLAY Magazine saw a random pedestrian spraying graffiti on a shop. Pedestrians now have purpose. There are more unique moments.
Each game mode can support differents numbers of players, with 16 being the maximum. Click here for a summary of the eight game modes which PLAY got to experience.
Be sure to pick up a copy if you see one, it's well worth the read. Thanks to DeeperRed for the info.
And in other news, be sure to check out our new Music page, which details all of the game's radio stations that we know about so far.

We all know the camera on the Sony Ericsson C905 is brilliant

We all know the camera on the Sony Ericsson C905 is brilliant. It’s one of the best cameras out there in the big, wide world of mobile phones. And finally, we have some definitive proof of that, in the form of a new advert for the C905 in FHM magazine, according to Gizmodo. What we have is the world’s first advert campaign that doesn’t bother with proper cameras, and is shot entirely using a Sony Ericsson C905.
Of course, as you can see, the fact it’s got a rather nice lady in her smalls in it can’t hurt.
The mobile phone’s in the middle of the picture, guys, please try and concentrate…
Sony Ericsson C905 - mobile phone ad campaign a world first
It’s testament to the sheer power of the Sony Ericsson C905 that I really couldn’t tell it wasn’t taken by a standalone camera, until the text in the advert pointed that fact out. Granted, it took me nearly a full ten minute before I even got round to noticing the text in the advert, but that’s by the by.
Well, what can I say, the Sony Ericsson C905 is just so eye-catching, it drew my eye away from everything else in the picture.
Yeah, right…
Still, it’s not often that you see an advert for mobile phones where it took me that long to actually notice there was a mobile phone in it, so in a weird way, that’s to be applauded. And it’s yet more proof that the Sony Ericsson C905 really does blur the lines between mobile phone and digital camera. Plus, it has the added advantage you can make calls on it. And do texts. And look at the internet (possibly at future Sony Ericsson adverts with scantily-clad women, who knows). The latest NikonFujiCanon MegaFinoFunkoPix might outclass the Sony Ericsson C905 on the camera output for now, but can it do all that..?

News that was launched by detikinet yesterday gave new hope

News that was launched by detikinet yesterday gave new hope about the presence of Android-based phone in Indonesia, complementing the BlackBerry and the iPhone. It was reported that the principals HTC, HTC Dream as the maker-base-T-Mobile G1 Android phone will enter into Indonesia in June.
There is a possibility that the upcoming HTC Magic (which recently launched in Hong Kong) and HTC mobile phones based on Android others will also enter the Indonesian market which is the fastest in the world telecommunications market. Prices later legal HTC Dream is expected around 6-7 million. Previous HTC Dream has entered into Singapore through SingTel's regional market.
One interesting reference is the HTC will hold three major operators in the sale of products. Refers to a constellation of mobile telecommunications Indonesia, the possibility of 3 operators are not far from Telkomsel, Indosat, and XL. Why is the latest trend right now is holding the service?
The best reason of course, the principal no longer need to bother making their own campaign, let the big-budget carrier called a lot of it is doing its job. This is very beneficial principals because the buzz created by these operators is usually very effective, rather than by its own buzz-exemption for Nokia and Sony Ericsson.
Another reason is to hold operators, principals can more freely determine the desired tariff package. Bundling with the installment of 6 months or 12 months is not a problem. Total price is not the biggest factor determining success of the sale of a handset.
Is not a phone for 6 million could be sold for 2 million and repayments prefix 300an thousand per month for a full year? Give the unlimited data subscription package for the duration of one year, treat with bonus applications and contents, and voila! The phone is a sexy look for the gadget freaks! Not susahkan?
Then if the HTC Dream will be "enough" success in a crowded niche, competing with the iPhone and the BlackBerry? Indeed, compared to 2 name it, Android is still much less prominence, but I believe there is still a fanatical gadget freaks, especially with Google's products-which will not miss the presence of these handsets officially. All you need do is to promote the benefits of Linux-based Android and has integrated Google's native application, such as push email GMail, Google Maps, and Google Calendar.
With the build factor has both touch screen and QWERTY keyboard, something that is not owned by the iPhone or BlackBerry, I'm sure there's always that can be offered by the phone.

In the market for a T-Mobile phone?

In the market for a T-Mobile phone? Here are the models we think should be at the top of your list. We’ll be updating our selections as we review new models, so sign up for our Mobile Weekly newsletter, and we’ll let you know when the updated list appears.
T-Mobile Debuts Cheap Android Phones and Cheaper Data Plans
If you’re on a budget but still want to give a loved one the gift of Android this holiday season, T-Mobile has you covered.

The wireless provider is offering a variety of Android-powered smartphones priced at less than $100, plus some new data and tethering plans that promise not to break the bank.
The phones aren’t going to be as advanced as the T-Mobile G2 or the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant, but the devices look perfect for a pre-teen, teen or someone who wants a smartphone but doesn’t need tons of power.
Starting November 3, T-Mobile will be offering the following devices for less than $100 with a qualifying rate plan and a two-year agreement:
* T-Mobile Comet – Compact phone with 528 MHz processor, 2.8-inch touch screen and 3.2-megapixel camera. This is also available for pre-paid customers for less than $200 and is T-Mobile’s least expensive 3G Android phone.
* LG Optimus T – 3.2-inch touch screen, 600 MHz processor and 3.2-megapixel camera.
* Motorola DEFY – Scratch and water resistant, 3.7-inch touch screen, 5-megapixel camera with video.
* Motorola CHARM – Features a QWERTY keyboard, 2.8-inch touch screen and a 3-megapixel camera.

T-Mobile on the List of Companies Expected to Die in 2011
admit, in the last 18 months I’ve grown fonder and fonder of T-Mobile. They are not my service provider — never have been — so my experience with them is based only on the image they project, but I’ve been intrigued by the idea of the Android platform since I first read about it, and let’s face it — T-Mobile has done a lot for Android. They released the first 2 Android devices to market, they are the primary host for Google’s own Nexus One, and they still have the largest selection of Android phones to choose from.

In light of all that, I’m a little to hear that T-Mobile just isn’t expected to survive the next calendar year. According to Yahoo! Finance, The U.S. cell phone market just isn’t big enough to support 4 or 5 cell phone carriers. They make the statement that the only reason Sprint is able to stay in the game is that they are moving faster on 4G than anyone else — and let’s face it, they’ve made huge strides toward improving the customer experience in the last year. But they don’t expect that T-Mobile, in the #4 position, will survive much longer.
I sorta hope they’re wrong. In the mobile market, more than any other market I can think of, choice is a good thing. Each carrier has its strengths and weaknesses, and you never know what’s gonna have the best reception in YOUR neighborhood, so a variety of providers is ideal. But I’ve heard that T-Mobile’s customer service has been on the decline, and that’s not a good sign for any company — especially in a field where there is lots of competition.

Mobile phone change our way of lifestyle

texting
It appears that the convenience of texting is slowly overtaking the act of calling someone and having a vocal conversation. The new study puts finds that young adults prefer texting as their primary form of communication.
According to a recently released study by Pew Internet, thirty-one percent of Americans would rather communicate through texting on a mobile phone rather than speaking with someone over the same phone. Young adults are the most common group that prefers this method of communication and the average of the survey group was about 110 texts per day while the median of that group clocked in at about 50 texts per day. One in ten young adults between the ages of 18 to 24 report that they send or receive at least 200 text messages per day (approximately 6,0o0 messages per month). The next age group, 25-34 year olds, typically average about 42 texts per day and this trend continues to decrease down to about 5 texts a day for the 65 and older group.

Specific to ethnicity, African Americans and Hispanics are more likely to use texting, the median being about 20 text messages per day. Regarding household income and education levels, households making less than $30,000 a year where most likely to send text messages as well as people who didn’t complete high school. People that send or receive more than 51 text messages per day overwhelmingly preferred to be contacted though texting. Only 27 percent of that group prefer a voice call. However, 70% of the group that receive less than 10 texts per day prefer speaking with someone over the phone over trading text messages. This data corresponds to an earlier study performed by Lab 42 that asked 500 teenagers about texting habits. Over 70 percent of that group preferred communicating through text message over a phone call and over 34 percent of that group spoke on the phone more than 15 minutes per day. Over 50 percent of teenagers use text messages to send pictures multiple times per month and they typically text while at home or browsing the computer. When it comes to apps, teenage boys primarily use smartphones mostly to play games, while teenage girls use smartphones for browsing social networks like Facebook.

The latest news HTC extends lawsuit versus Apple to patents from Google

(Reuters) - HTC Corp has extended its lawsuit against Apple Inc to include nine more patents the Taiwanese firm acquired from Google Inc last week, underscoring intensifying legal actions between the Google camp and Apple.
The world's No. 5 smartphone maker said on Thursday it has amended its existing complaint with the International Trade Commission (ITC) and U.S. District Court of Delaware against Apple over three patent infringements.
It has also filed an additional case in Delaware alleging patent infringement by Apple's iOS devices and Mac computers.
"HTC will continue to protect its patented inventions against infringement from Apple until such infringement stops," said Grace Lei, HTC's general counsel, in a statement.
The Taiwanese company, one of the largest manufacturers of devices based on Google's Android operating system, is embroiled in an acrimonious patent war with arch-rival Apple, which has filed several patent lawsuits against the Taiwan-based company in Delaware in the last two years.
"We think competition is healthy, but competitors should create their own original technology, not steal ours," Apple said in a statement on Thursday, in response to the latest HTC move.
HTC is also seeing its rapid growth slow in an increasingly competitive market. Its sales in August barely grew over the month before [ID:nT8E7JM010].
Increasing lawsuits among hi-tech companies have led some to seek extra protection by acquiring patents from elsewhere.
Google's biggest deal ever, acquiring Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc for $12.5 billion, was such an attempt to buy insurance against increasingly aggressive legal attacks from rivals.
